Recognition of Previous Learning
What is Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)?
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is a formal assessment process that allows experienced coaches, instructors, and practitioners to have their existing skills, knowledge, and experience assessed against the UP Coaching Certification (UPCC) competency standards.
Through RPL, eligible applicants may gain partial or full recognition toward a UPCC certification without repeating learning they have already achieved through professional practice, prior training, or industry experience.
Who Should Apply for RPL?
RPL is ideal for individuals who:
Have significant coaching or facilitation experience
Have completed non-UPCC coaching courses or certifications
Are actively coaching in schools, clubs, academies, or communities
Have led programs, clinics, workshops, or competitive teams
Can demonstrate competencies aligned with UPCC certification standards
RPL is not an automatic certification. All applications are assessed against UPCC quality and competency requirements.
